Gatorade plus PEG Solution

"Anohter modification, which is not available commercially, is to add PEG 3350 laxative powder (Miralax, and others) to half a gallon of Gatorade. The PEG 3350 powder dissolves in the liquid. This approach has been used in children. The mixture may be more palatable than the otehr PEG solutions, but there is a cconcern: the sugars in Gatorade, whan a large volume is consumed, can reach the colon and be converted by colonic bacteria to methane or other flammable gases. If electrocautery is used subsequently during colonoscopy, as in removal of a polyp, these gases theoretically could ignite and explode."
